International Spirits Challenge 2023: Volume Brands' success
Six of our whiskies have been recognised in this year’s International Spirits Challenge (ISC). Medals were given to our Volume Brands Portfolio. We design this range with larger groups and distributors in mind to show that great quality and great value can go hand-in-hand.
The ISC, which is now in its 28th year, is the leading global event highlighting exceptional quality spirits worldwide. The competition is built on a strict and impartial judging system, which encourages an optimum level of ideas, designs, and campaigns submitted each year. The ISC is an international tournament attracting thousands of entries from more than 70 nations around the world. Many of the world’s leading spirit producers regard it as the benchmark for excellence and quality around the world.
Our Lighthouse blended whisky has received two medals. A gold medal was awarded for our unpeated release and a silver medal for our peated version of the same whisky. Lighthouse whisky is our signature blended whisky which contains a higher than usual level of single malt spirit. The result is a great value, delicious and characterful whisky. Bottled at 40% abv., this whisky has a fruity sweetness and an encouraging complexity.
Old Smithy whisky is a fine single malt, selected from one of Scotland’s finest distilleries, and matured in carefully selected casks to give a luxurious texture and complex, balanced flavour. A rounded, easy-drinking everyday dram with perfectly balanced flavours and complexity. This special dram is bottled at 40%, so ideal as an everyday sipping whisky, or as a base for longer drinks and cocktails. The ISC judges have given a Silver medal for this whisky.
It was another great whisky competition for EccoseG. this year. After receiving a Gold accolade at the recent Global Spirits Master Competition (GSMC), this outstanding whisky got recognition from the ISC judges and was awarded a Silver medal. Eccose G. is an extraordinary, noble spirit that matures in Scotland in particularly rare, high-quality barriques from France, formerly used for the finest Cognacs, & top wines from the small, famous area of St. Emilion.
It was great to see the Celtic Revival getting recognition once again. It has recently received a high score of 92 (Silver) in the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) and the ISC judges awarded it with a Silver medal too. This 12-year-old single malt is from Speyside, the home of so many of the great single malt whiskies such as The Glenlivet and Glenfiddich.
Lastly, our Highland Shepherds, which already has quite a few awards in its portfolio, was awarded a Silver medal. This Highland Single Malt Whisky was matured in bourbon casks and typical of the region, offers a rich, fuller, and sweeter character. Highland Shepherd is an amazing value single malt, great for toasts and special occasions with friends or family.
Winning an ISC award is indeed an impressive achievement and we are extremely excited that our Volume Products are getting more and more recognition amongst whisky professionals. This range is available in a growing number of international markets along with the UK, please get in touch to find out more information.
